This is the moment a man crawls across thin ice using a sheet of plastic to rescue a dog trapped in a frozen pond.
The dramatic rescue took place in the Bereznyaki district of Tyumen, Russia, on 5th November.
Local resident Oleg Kondratyev risked his life to reach the animal, which had fallen through the ice on a pond.
Footage shows the man lying flat on a large piece of plastic to distribute his weight as he inches towards the struggling dog.
He grabs the animal by its collar and pulls it to safety as an onlooker records the rescue.
After reaching the shore, Kondratyev took the dog home to warm it up and feed it.
The dog’s owner was later found thanks to local community chats and reunited with her pet.
She told reporters that she had allowed her dog to roam freely and had not imagined it could fall into the pond.
Local media said the animal escaped unharmed after the incident.
