Ferocious 440-Lb Dog Eating Tiger Goes On the Attack During Relocation Away From Village

This is the moment a huge Amur tiger captured and moved to a remote region after it started hunting dogs bursts from its cage and attacks the vehicle transporting it.

The adult male had been captured after entering the village of Naykhin, Khabarovsk Krai, in Russia’s Far East, where it went onto private plots and preyed on dogs, prompting officials to trap it in order to remove it from the settlement.

Specialists from the Amur Tiger Centre said in a statement on 12th February that a new habitat was selected “taking into account sufficient food supply and remoteness from populated areas”.

Footage shows the nearly 200-kilogramme (440-lb) tiger inside a transport vehicle before inspectors open the cage door.

The animal does not immediately leave the vehicle, remaining inside for several moments.

Inspectors then set the vehicle in motion, prompting the tiger to jump out. But instead of dashing off the animal attacks the cage and the vehicle before he then disappears into the nearby forest.

The capture and release were carried out by staff from the Hunting Management Department of the Government of Khabarovsk Krai and the Regional Wildlife Protection Service.
