This is the moment a runaway dog darts onto the runway of one of Brazil’s busiest airports, forcing a dramatic halt to flights as emergency crews scramble to capture the hound.
The incident happened at Congonhas Airport in Sao Paulo, Sao Paulo state, Brazil, on 11th March.
Video shows the black dog sprinting across the runway while airport emergency teams chase after it using vehicles and capture nets.
The animal is seen repeatedly evading the first responders as it runs across the tarmac before heading toward the passenger terminal.
According to Aena, the concessionaire responsible for operating Congonhas Airport, the dog escaped from a passenger who was travelling with the animal and ran toward the runway area.
Emergency teams were immediately dispatched and eventually captured the dog before returning it to its owner.

Airport operations were temporarily suspended for nine minutes between 3:26pm and 3:35pm as a precaution while the animal was safely removed from the runway.
Gabriela Salles, who lives in Rio de Janeiro, told local media she adopted her dog, Kim, in Caraiva.
She said a friend had volunteered to bring Kim to her. “Everything was fine, everything was in order,” she said.
“But after the first flight, she escaped from her kennel.”
Salles explained that Kim had been rescued from the roadside and is very timid.

No flights were cancelled as a result of the incident.
