This is the moment a sika deer storms into a dormitory building and rears up at a startled dormitory supervisor as she tries to chase it out with a broom.
The incident took place at Sichuan Xiaquan Normal School in Sichuan province, China, with the school confirming on 9th March that the video circulating online was filmed in October 2025.
Footage shows the deer rearing up on its hind legs inside a dormitory corridor as it faces a dormitory supervisor, creating a tense standoff between the animal and the staff member.
The supervisor stands several metres away while holding a broom and plastic containers as the deer appears to lunge toward her, with screams heard in the background.
The deer then becomes startled and calmly walks out through the front glass door.
According to the school, the deer may have interpreted the supervisor’s movements as aggressive, triggering a stress response.
The school said the sika deer was raised on campus as part of efforts to help relieve students’ academic pressure.
Officials added that enclosures have since been built and the sika deer, along with peacocks kept on campus, are now kept in captivity.
