The footage was released by the Royal Family and Britain’s Ministry of Defence on 26th August and shows the ceremony to the Queen of Country outside the palace in London.

The video shows the Band of the Coldstream Guards playing the 1980 hit during the Changing of the Guard ceremony at the royal residence.

The Royal Family said: “Remembering the late, great Dolly, who brought joy, comfort and inspiration to so many, including the millions of children given free books through her Imagination Library. We will always love you.”

The Ministry of Defence said: “A special tribute to the Queen of Country. From her many friends, fans and admirers across the pond.”

Dolly Parton died on Tuesday, 25th August, at a cancer centre in Nashville after what her team described as a brief battle with the disease.

Her nephew Bryan Seaver announced the death in a recorded video, saying she had been surrounded by loved ones.

Her links to the royal family went back to 1977, when she appeared at the Royal Variety Performance during Queen Elizabeth II’s Silver Jubilee.

She described it at the time as one of the biggest thrills of her life, and later spoke of wanting to meet the royals again.

Her Imagination Library, which posts free books to millions of children aged five and under, expanded to Britain in 2007.

Parton won 11 Grammy awards and sold more than 100 million records across a career spanning six decades.

She was born in Pittman Center, Tennessee, in January 1946, and her husband Carl Dean died last year after 58 years of marriage.

Musicians and actors including Taylor Swift, Beyonce, Lily Tomlin, Eminem, and Sally Field have paid tribute since her death.
