Goats have caused an environmental clean-up after turning on the drain tap of a milk tank and sending 150 litres of fresh cow’s milk into a stream.
The bizarre spill happened at the Untere Hagni property in the district of Schlatt-Haslen, in the canton of Appenzell Innerrhoden, eastern Switzerland, on 11th May.
Officials said the free-roaming goats managed to get at the outlet tap of the tank at around midday.

A large quantity of fresh cow’s milk then began pouring out before flowing into a storm drain.
From there, around 150 litres of milk reached a nearby stream and polluted the water.
The Appenzell Innerrhoden Office for the Environment and the local fire brigade were immediately called to the scene.
Firefighters pumped away the contaminated water and allowed it to seep into nearby meadowland.
The polluted stretch of the stream was then flushed with fresh water.
Images from the scene show a white trail of milk-coloured water running through the bright green grass and woodland beside the property.
Officials did not report any injuries or further damage.
