This is the moment a panicked sika deer launches itself almost three metres into the air, clears a fence and smashes through a rooftop in a desperate bid to escape.
The incident happened on 25th February in Ganzhou, Jiangxi province, China.
CCTV footage from the breeding farm shows several sika deer suddenly scattering after a young child entered their enclosure. Within seconds, one deer breaks away from the group and charges straight at the perimeter fence.
The animal is then seen soaring over the barrier, which the farm owner said stands close to three metres (nearly 10 feet) high, clearing it in a single leap.
It lands on top of a nearby feed storage shed, but the impact of its body weight causes the asbestos roof tiles to shatter beneath it. The deer plunges through the broken roof and disappears inside the building.
The farm owner said the deer was not injured despite smashing through the roof and falling into the structure.

After climbing out, the animal wandered around the area twice before eventually returning to its enclosure on its own.
The owner said it was the first time he had witnessed a sika deer jump that high.
